Pictures of Adventures

New Years Day we rode the subway to Meiji Shrine.  There were THOUSANDS of people there.  It was really fun to see, the families were all very patient and quiet standing in line to worship at the shrine.  We started to stand in the line, but we realized that after moving 3 yards in 10 minutes we wouldn't last.  But we did get to eat a chocolate covered banana on a stick!
This is in Thailand, where we went for our Winter break.  We stayed in downtown Patong, where all the shopping was.  It was loud and dirty, so dirty, and there were many areas that were still being rebuilt from the tsunamis.  It was hard for me to walk along the sidewalk and step over whatever that nasty stuff was.
We stayed right next to Hard Rock Cafe.  Funny how in the filth there was a HRC.  Different sides of the street, different worlds altogether.

The name of this place is awesome.  Is it a franchise?
Okay, so who needs to make sense when their pictures are not in order?  This is from the day we flew in to Tokyo.  We waited in Immigration for over an hour where they did... something? with our passports, rode a minibus with just us and our luggage (not that anyone else could fit), got dropped off a block from our apartment at 5:00 am, and had to drag ALL of this down the blacktop to our apartment. Every day I pass that corner, my mind imagines what we must have looked like that morning.
This is Abigail's cubby (notice she is Abigail, not Bella.  I miss Bella), at school.  It is outside, totally new idea for me.
First day of school pictures

This is a slide.  A cement slide!
